How it started
Jesus Our Banner Ministry (JOB) began in 1998 with the planting of Naga Church, in Naga City. Since then, the ministry has grown and expanded to numerous islands and has become a church planting movement! Founders Ralph & Joji Silo have have led this movement in partnership with Light & Life Christian Fellowship. Since its foundation, JOB Ministry has planted more than 40 churches with the dream of planting 100 by 2030.
One example of how God is moving is how the main church located at San Isidro, Bombon, Camarines Sur was founded. In 1986. Joji was in a car accident and hit a 12 yr old girl who lived in Bombon, the family opened their house for Bible study that later became a church! This church has since raised up six pastors! This is what a river church vision is all about, multiplying leads and churches.
God is moving in the islands of the Philippines and we want to be a part of this incredible move of the Spirit until the population is reached with the gospel. The fruitfulness of this ministry lets us know that the harvest is ready in the islands! You can help this work continue to bear fruit.

How it's Going
In the last year, we've planted three new churches in the following locations of the Bicol Region: Victoria Laguna, Hobo Minalabac, and Caglate Alabat. In addition, last February at our annual JOB Pastors Conference, we installed four new pastors and started two new missionary bible studies in the remote islands of Garchitorena and Alabat.
On this trip, our Light & Life Pastors spent a week training and developing new leaders to reach new villages (barangays) with evangelistic outreaches, bible studies and youth activities.

Current Challenges
In November of 2024, typhoon Kristine ripped through the Bicol region of the Philippines leaving many of our churches and homes of church members flooded and destroyed. This was one of the worst natural disasters of the last decade. It claimed 151 lives and affected 8.8 million Filipinos. Many of our churches and members are still recovering and rebuilding. We have been working with the government to provide assistance, food supplies, and financial support.

What's Next
This June, we are sending two teams of Pastors and young leaders. One team will minister and evangelize in new remote islands, and continue growing our church planting work. The other team will lead ministry gatherings for youth and women leaders, strengthening the leadership of our existing mother churches and raising up a next generation of disciple-makers.
Pastors Sean & Alberto will be serving as traveling missionaries for 1 week.
Pastor Kimy, along with Michelle, Kristen, Cassie, and Kimora, will be leading our ministry gatherings for 2 weeks.
