Global Thinking Light & Life is committed to obey Jesus command in Acts 1:8 "You shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the world". Glocal means we minister in our local backyard and around the globe. Besides our local missions to the poor and the homeless we reach out the lost in places that have never heard the good news of Jesus' love. Mexico - Each year we send a team or two to Mexico to minister God's love through building homes, classrooms, and churches. Ethiopia- We have been used by God to start 7 churches in the Jimma and Beta Genet of Ethiopia. In addition we have started a school that helps break the cyle of poverty. Philippines - With Pastor Ralph and Joji Silo, members of our church who have started a network of churches in the Bicol Region of the Philippines, we are committed to starting churches and ministries. Thailand - We support Don and Kathy Williams who are overseeing a school ministering to hundreds of mission kids and to their families.  Asia- International Evangelists, Keith and Juile Winslow are doing a tremendous work for Christ in a difficult, but exciting ministry area. Japan - We have recently sent a missions team to bring God's love to Japan. This is a developing field for us. Heavenly Treasures - We support Kathy Galton and her work in helping indigenous people in different countries start small businesses of creating goods that will sell in America. Kenya - We support Benard Onedik's work in the Kisumu area of Kenya. This includes church planting, two orphanages and two schools. Helping People Feel Welcome The first two minutes of a person's visit to a new church are the most critical. We strive for excellence at helping people feel loved, valued, and comfortable. First Touch Teams include: Greeters- a friendly greeting, a handshake, a smile, and a Sunday bulletin. Ushers - helping people find seats and providing a feeling of security  Altar Response Team - praying for people who respond to the message.

Bringing HOPE to Kidz - I.C. Kidz- InnerChange KidzA bright orange truck pulls into the toughest neighborhoods of Long Beach, Paramount, Bellflower,  Hawaiian Gardens, Whittier and other local towns. The side of the truck slowly lowers until a stage with a booming sound system starts cranking out hiphop Jesus music. Kids coming running because it is the I.C. Kidz truck and it's time for laughter, games, prizes, Bible stories, worship, and prayer. Led by Calvin and Sarah Tatupu, I.C. Kidz enters five or more poor neighborhoods every week and brings the hope of Jesus Christ to boys and girls. Their ministry helps prevent kids from joining the gangs that prevail in their neighborhoods. I.C. Kidz is a ministry of Light & Life that is changing neighborhoods one kid at a time. The I.C. Kidz food ministry helps provide food weekly for hungry families.  I.C. Kidz continually needs volunteers to help impact the kids in our neighborhoods.

 At Light & Life, we understand that you might experience difficulties. At times, these problems may be too big for you to handle, and you may need someone to come alongside of you for guidance.
We have several pastors who will do short term counseling, pre-marital counseling, and spiritual guidance.  We also offer on site professional Christian counseling provided by Turning Point Counseling Center. In addition we have several groups that deal with addictive behaviors and difficult life issues. Groups for overeaters, drug addiction, alcoholism, grief recovery, healthy lifestyle, codependency, and many others are offered throughout the year. |

Baptism: Declaring Our Allegiance Acts 2:38 commands us to be baptized...."Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins..." At Light & Life we emphasize baptism not as a means of salvation but as a mark of salvation. Obeying the command of Jesus to be immersed in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is a public profession that an individual makes to indicate they have truly become a follower of Christ. Baptisms are held 4 or 5 times yearly either in the yard of our Children's Center or at a nearby swimming pool or even at the beach. These celebrations are a holy time of commitment and a testimony to friends and family. Watch our Sunday bulletin for info on the next baptism.
