| Acts 20:20 You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. Paul was teaching in large, impersonal settings but then he was going around to the smaller gatherings to teach there also. At Light & Life we believe that the church needs to have two wings. One is our public gatherings, the other is our small group gatherings. We call these smaller gatherings "Group Life"...when 3 to 15 people gather and invite Christ into the midst of the gathering then He SHOWS UP! We have a variety of formal and informal groups that gather for prayer, Bible study, sharing, serving, outreach, and hobbies. One of our buzz words for groups is "Tribes". We encourage people to influence their existing networks or "Tribes" (like their family, their neighbors, their hobbies, their work place, their classmates, etc) with the love, truth, and grace of Jesus Christ. We encourage all our Light & Life attendees to try out several of our groups or to start your own "Tribe". Everyone needs a few good tribes in life! After completing 101 you can request to become a member of Light & Life. (TEACH) deals with the 7 Essential Habits for Growing Christians. (MEND) deals with overcoming some spiritual attack and sin. (SEND) deals with discovering your strengths and gifts for ministry. |

MEMBERSHIP has its reasons, benefits, and responsbilities. Becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ happens when a person trusts Christ as their Savior and is born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. No other membership is essential. Every person who has done this is a member of the capital C Church. Becoming a member of the LOCAL church (the small c church) is different. Every Christian needs a healthy church and a healthy pastor. The local church forms the family, the accountability group, and the team on which the Christian serves to help win the lost to Christ. The Pastor serves as the leader who helps to feed, care for, and protect the believers of local church. The local church gives believers a setting in which to operate the gifts the Spirit has given to them. What are the requirements for Membership in Light & Life? |
